SD.003: "Getting on God's Good Side" Psalm 50

Have you ever tried to get on God’s good side?  In Psalm 50, God says… “I will not accept a bull from your house or goats from your folds. For every beast of the forest is MINE, the cattle on a thousand hills.”

God doesn’t need anything, so we can’t bargain with God. So… How can we get on God’s good side?

Psalm 50 says, “The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me; to one who orders his way rightly I will show the salvation of God!”

Whoever offers sincere, unbridled thanksgiving honors God.

The 11th Century Jewish Midrash Tehillim says, “A thank-offering is dearer to God than all other offerings, for these [other offerings] are brought only because of transgressions.”

You see… Thankfulness comes from an overflowing heart, not religious duty.

THAT’S what God wants…  And he already is on your side.

God wants an overflowing grateful relationship with YOU, not with your religiosity.

What would it look like for you to enjoy God’s goodness with unbridled thankfulness?
